Apollo’s Raven by Linnea Tanner is historical fantasy, set in tribal Britain, where druidic tribes are coming into conflict with early-empire Rome.

When the story opens, Princess Catrin is just beginning to come into her powers. She’s able to see through a raven’s eyes, and travel as if she were the raven. This is not a cause for celebration, since each new discovery brings her closer to a terrible prophecy, that Catrin and her raven will cause the end of the tribe.

This clash between awesome druidic magic and Roman expansionism sets the stage for the entire book. But there’s already conflict among Catrin’s people before the Romans arrive. Her evil half-brother and a rival tribe seem determined to ruin everything for Catrin’s tribe, completely independent of the dangerous prophecy. Add rivalries and secret romance closer to the throne, for even more tension…
