I expected a book about a reality show to have some good twists, but, man, I was stunned by Jefferson! (Reminder, this page has spoilers, so check out my main review if you haven’t read One To Watch yet.)

My husband is a stocky KCMO hipster, so of course I thought Jefferson would be the nicest guy in the Main Squeeze lineup. I actually thought they’d have the sort of storyline that happened between Bea and Wyatt. I thought Jefferson and Bea might bond and become friends, but I didn’t want Bea to end up with the only plus-size suitor.

I just did NOT see that coming! I couldn’t believe sweet, Midwestern Jefferson would turn on Bea like that! Once I calmed down (and told my husband how I was tricked into rooting for the Kansas City guy), I thought about how clever it was to have this level of anger and rejection pouring out of the friendly, average-looking suitor. You really feel just as blindsided as Bea here.
